Add your @mailme.nz mailbox to Mozilla Thunderbird using IMAP so mail stays in sync with webmail and your phone.

SMTP choice: both
465 (SSL/TLS) and 587 (STARTTLS) work. Prefer 465 when available — TLS from the first byte. Use 587 if you prefer STARTTLS or if 465 fails on your network.Step by step
- Open Thunderbird → menu (≡) → New Account → Email (wording may vary slightly by version).
- Enter your name,
you@mailme.nz, and password → Continue. - If Thunderbird guesses wrong servers, choose Configure manually / Edit configuration.
- Set Incoming to IMAP, hostname
mail.websnz.co.nz, port993, connection security SSL/TLS, authentication Normal password. - Set Outgoing SMTP to
mail.websnz.co.nz, port465, connection security SSL/TLS, authentication Normal password, username = full email. (Alternatively: port587with STARTTLS.) - Re-test / Done. Open the Inbox — mail should appear within a few seconds.
Sending mail
First send may prompt for the password again. Leave “remember password” enabled if this is your own computer.
If send fails: confirm SMTP authentication is on, and try port 465 with SSL/TLS or port 587 with STARTTLS (not plain 25).
